Description
Despite the cold temperatures and heavy presence of the white frost all around, this herd of bison entered the Yellowstone River ready to cross it. The excited energy suddenly stopped and in an instant changed into nervous pacing and deep breathing. The head cow stopped and was on full alert. Something was consuming her entire focus, perhaps a scent. I looked into the fog, hoping to see the other side of the river, and just for an instant, there it was, a fog shrouded shape of a large bear.
