Description
Cotton in the Southern states of America is harvested every year in the fall and winter. When the bolls crack open exposing the fluffy white fiber, the crop is ready for harvest. Unlike the past, picking, planting, and baling cotton is fully mechanized.
Nonetheless, the legacy of slavery on the cotton plantations encumber a nation still suffering from its sordid past. Cotton sown and harvested by the hands of black slaves powered the textile revolution in the United States. In fact, the chief cause of the Civil War stemmed from the fear of losing black slave labor. “Song of the Wren,” is a digital painting and photo composite created in Spadecaller's Florida Studio.

Thanks very much, Nancy. LOL... I didn't know what you meant about "show"...And then I remembered an old tv show (ED Sullivan) He would always announce that tonight we really have a big "shoe."
